Gather with the Utah Jewish community for our annual Holocaust Remembrance Day Commemoration. We are honored to welcome special guests Tory Cook and Jason Carpenter, Utah high school educators and Auschwitz Legacy fellows. They will share the impact and experience of their Federation sponsored week in Warsaw and Auschwitz this past July; how it’s changed the way they teach about the Holocaust and how the opportunity affected them personally.

The Auschwitz Legacy Fellowship is a program for high school teachers in partnership with the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial Foundation (ABMF), Recognizing the need to bring lessons of Auschwitz to American High School students, AMBF launched its first educational initiative in the United States in January 2022. This year-long program brings American high school teachers to Auschwitz so that they - upon their return - can bring lessons of Auschwitz and the Holocaust back home to their students and to be able to teach in much more personal way. We are proud that three Utah High School teachers were part of the first cohort of 32 Fellows from across the country.
