PJ Library - An Ethiopian Celebration - Sigd

Sunday, November 19 - 2:30 pm

I.J. & Jeanne Wagner Jewish Community Center. Registration required. Please note - if you are not a member of the JCC, be prepared to show a photo I.D. upon entering the building.

Join PJ Library Utah and learn about the holiday, Sigd, celebrated by Ethiopian Jews in Israel. Sigd has been an official holiday in Israel since 2008.

  • Test your skills in an obstacle course, simulating the difficult journey many Ethiopian Jews experienced traveling to Israel on foot.
  • Try injera bread, a sour fermented pancake-like flatbread with a slightly spongy texture that is traditional Ethiopian food.
  • Create an African inspired masks.

Experience Ethiopian Jewish culture with PJ Library Utah!

Contact: Yahelle Yaccoby with any questions ([email protected]).
