Sandra Brett, a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Pennsylvania with an MFA in painting and drawing from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, is a practicing and exhibiting artist in Charleston, South Carolina. For most of her professional life, she taught studio art and art history at the post-secondary level. When Sandra relocated to Charleston nineteen years ago, she changed her professional direction. As a child of Holocaust survivors, she was well suited to reinvigorate Holocaust education as director of the Charleston Jewish Federation REMEMBER program. She has since shifted to creating cultural initiatives in the Jewish and larger community, and she speaks to school and community groups about her parents’ experiences and the art of the Holocaust.
